Brain Fog: Back At Square Zero

In the last post I shared how measuring my blood sugar and producing ketones was helping me to handle my brain fog better.

While it did but I relapsed and had a few carbs heavy foods.

Ok - I'll be honest, not few, but quite a few. Since there was a Holidays - Christmas and a New Year Celebration and there is this thing - what I call

Since I wasn't celebrating at home the food choices were limited. Most were carbs heavy. What can go wrong? 😄

Blood Sugar

blood sugar reading - 6.2 mmol

Blood sugar levels gone up and it's bad.

Before the holidays blood sugar was - 4.0 - 4.4 mmol.

Now it is 6.0 - 6.4 mmol.

It depends on the time of measurement, but I try to measure it only in the morning and in the evening.

Fasting (morning) sugar - 6.2 mmol it shows clear insulin resistance. Insulin resistance occurs when cells fail to respond to insulin.

As a result - Brain Fog is back with all it's might as it was before.

I am having hard time concentrating on various cognitive tasks, feel tired and I want just to lie on the couch and eat potato chips. Like I a couch potato.

Getting Back On Track

I am removing majority of carbs out of my diet.

Max 20g of carbohydrates per day. It will be not easy thing to do.
I did once and I can do it again.

The most unpleasant thing about this situation is adjustment period and habit correction and I have to do it while I feel like shit. Again.

If you are reading this probably you feel like crap too.

But good thing is that I know what is wrong and I can work to fix it. Many "Brain Foggers" don't.

I have a hunger feeling and to battle this I am drinkin coffee with butter or MCT oil in the morning.

So hoping this will make me feel better.

Will keep you posted of my progress.
